The Happiest Cards in the Tarot Deck
No Tarot card is all good or all bad.
Even the Death card can be positive, for it may refer to the death of something negative, such as the end of a cigarette addiction. In fact, it can be a very positive card, signalling that something is ending in order to be replaced by something much better!
Nevertheless, some cards are more auspicious than others.
The following are five of the most potentially positive cards in the Tarot deck.
The Sun
What can be happier than a brightly shining sun on a clear day? In the Rider Waite Tarot deck the card shows a brilliant sun above a happy child on a horse. This card symbolises achievement, great health, warmth and affection in relationships, and mental clarity. When it appears, it’s saying you have a potential for greatness, whether in business, in a career or other pursuits, or in personal relationships. You also have the ability and the vision to see and understand the true nature of all that is going on around you. So let the sun shine in!
The Nine of Cups
It’s sometimes called “The Wish Card!” Be sure to make a wish the moment it appears. This can be a card about appreciation, about being grateful for what you have in life. The man on the card in the Rider Waite Tarot deck looks satisfied and well fed. He sits with a smile on his face, and the cups behind him are empty. He’s already gotten what he wants, and now he’s happy. This card, then, is about getting what you want. As always, however, be careful what you wish for!
The Knight of Pentacles
This Knight represents the rewards that can follow hard work. In the Rider Waite Tarot deck, he’s not rushing into battle; he’s sitting calmly on his faithful steed, contemplating the Pentacle or giant coin in his hand. Having persevered, the Knight has reaped his just rewards. When the Knight of Pentacles shows up in your reading, it may mean your persistence is about to pay off. Alternatively, because Tarot knights are messengers, he may mean you’re about receive good news.
The Three of Wands
This is another card about success. A man stands on a high cliff, watching ships sail below. His ships are about to come in, and so, very likely, are yours! This card is telling you to feel good about your accomplishments, whether those have to do with business, money, spirituality, career, health, or relationships. And if the accomplishments have not yet manifested, don’t despair – instead, prepare. Because this card suggests your ships will be sailing in very soon.
The Six of Swords
Okay, the suit of Swords is not the most positive one in the deck. It’s associated with conflict, and if you examine the pictures in this suit in the Rider Waite Tarot, some are downright scary. But this particular card, which shows a family making a journey by water, can mean you’re about to head off to a new, different, and better place, whether it be a relationship, job, or a state of mind. Your life is about to change for the better – ditch your baggage on route so you can be ready to embrace that change!
