Well, it wasn’t actually a Tarot exhibition – although that would have been great fun. Anything spiritual, mystical and esoteric is right up my street. But no, in this case it was a business exhibition!
The Business Show is a twice-yearly event held in London where a couple of hundred businesses showcase their products and services. Over 25,000 people visited the show, which was held at the ExCel Centre – an absolutely huge space in Docklands.
So I rented a small space and, with the help of my fantastic friend Joan, I told a large percentage of those 25,000 people why booking an afternoon or evening of Tarot reading woud be a great idea. We talked about corporate entertaining, where I’d go in and give readings to their clients to help celebrate a special occasion or event, such as opening a new branch, launching a new product, or simply thanking them for their business.
Or I can work with the staff as a team-building event – or to increase team motivation. And if the business has any sticking points, I can work with the management to help guide them through to ‘calmer waters.’ This Tarot for Business is the sort of work I love!
I spent much of the two days giving free readings on my stand, and I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who stopped by for a reading – it was a pleasure and an honour to read for you!

I had the absolute pleasure of reading Tarot for the customers and staff of Astrid & Miyu – a small chain of jewellery boutiques set in three of my favourite parts of London!
The afternoon I spent with them was in their Covent Garden store to celebrate the launch of their new zodiac themed jewellery, and it was fab!! The jewellery range is exquisite: dainty pieces in beautiful metals – and the people I read for were amazing too – fun, enthusiastic and glowing with positive auras.
The shop is so pretty! It’s all pink and magical looking, situated on a cobbled street close to Seven Dials, an area oozing with mystical shops and delicious cafés. Their other stores are in Shoreditch Boxpark and St Christopher’s Place near Bond Street – both equally appealing and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Sophie Williams, the firm’s Brand Marketing Associate, gave me this lovely testimonial, which I’m proud to share:
“Renee was an absolute pleasure to work with for the launch of our zodiac Christmas campaign. Everyone really enjoyed their reading and came out feeling extremely positive. We would definitely recommend booking with Renee for any events you have coming up or just a reading for yourself.”
If you’re planning any pre-Christmas events, there may still be time to arrange a treat for your staff or clients. My diary is pretty full up to the end of this year, but it’s worth checking the date anyway, as I have a couple of spaces still available. I’m also taking bookings now for events up to June 2019. Many thanks to Sophie and the team at Astrid & Miyu for making me so welcome!

Some cards in the Rider-Waite Tarot deck look scary, and it can be frightening when they appear in your reading. Here’s a quick glance at some not-really-scary Tarot cards.
Death
This card rarely forecasts a literal death. It’s symbolic, and some deaths are good: the death of financial problems, for example, or the death of loneliness. So when you see this card, it won’t mean you’re about to kick the bucket, it means something is ending for something new – and usually better – to begin!
The Devil
The card shows Satan with a naked couple in chains. But it isn’t about demonic possession. It may refer to someone in bondage to something harmful, such as debt or nicotine. This card advises you to get rid of destructive influences in your life.
The Tower
The Tower depicts people falling from a turret struck by lightning. Does it mean disaster? Possibly, but often not. A sudden and unexpected change is coming, and this can be positive. There’s a chance something will happen that you might feel is devastating at the time, but – just like a building that comes crashing down – it gives you the opportunity to build up again in just the way that suits you!
The Suit of Swords
The suit of Swords contains numerous scary cards, such as the Ten, which shows a man impaled and bleeding. But Swords are “double-edged” and may be good or bad. Generally they signify action, change, and strong emotions; they’re intellectual cards, and have multiple interpretations.
The Five of Pentacles
This Five shows a couple in rags limping through the snow. But it doesn’t forecast destitution. It can, instead, be a caution not to try “keeping up with the Joneses” or against irrational fears of poverty that may lead you to miserliness. The card also shows an illuminated church window, symbolizing hope and support nearby.

People from all walks of life say they’ve experienced life-changing Tarot readings via personal study or from skilled card readers.
Here’s one Londoner’s story.
Hannah
A twenty-nine-year-old London journalist and social media expert with a degree from Kingston University, Hannah had long felt something was missing from her life.
Despite a successful blog, a stable relationship, close friends, and a beautiful home, by October 2016, “I felt like things weren’t aligning in my head the way they should be,” she reports.
During an American tour that included the mysterious Louisiana Bayou country – a centre for African-based spiritual folkways, her tour guide asked if she wanted a Tarot reading.
She’d left London seeking to understand where her life focus should be, and to come home with a clear idea of what she was intended to achieve with her life. So the answer was naturally “yes.”
The reader told Hannah she needed to pay more attention to the people around her and less attention to her own career, such as to her blog, vlog, and other online activities.
Hannah says she came away from the Tarot reading convinced that “to feel truly satisfied with myself, I need to focus on people… not on myself and my work… appreciating people and the moments without work and social media clouding over it.”
As she puts it, the cards “literally changed everything.”
Today she refers to the day of her reading as “The Hannah Gale Spiritual Awakening Day.” You can read about Hannah’s Tarot experience here.
